Look for the current status, admission information, and any public discipline information the agency provides. Terminology and available records vary, so use the agency’s explanations.

Compare the firm name, office information, and contact details shown by reliable sources with the information you received. Ask the firm to explain a mismatch before sending sensitive records or money.
Keep verification in context
License status is an essential check, not a complete quality rating. Consider it alongside relevant experience, staffing, communication, written terms, and your own needs.
